• Are not physically healthy, you would not be a good candidate for breast augmentation.
• Are doing this for someone else, you should reconsider. It is a very personal decision, and therefore, it is your decision.

Nose surgery usually takes 1-2 hours, but some procedures, depending on how complicated, can take up to several hours. Your plastic surgeon will separate the skin of the nose, from it supporting structure of bone a cartilage. After this is done, the plastic surgeon will sculpt the desired shape of your nose. This is very much on a case by case basis, as every patient will have different needs. The skin is then placed over the new structure your plastic surgeon created.

Many plastic surgeons choose to perform rhinoplasty from within the nose, which means that the incision is done inside the nostrils. This means no scarring for the patient. Other plastic surgeons, usually for more complicated procedures, choose to make the incision from the outside. This does leave the patient with a scar, but it is typically not noticeable.

After the completion of surgery, a splint will be placed on your nose to help maintain the shape and also for protection.

• In pretty good shape, with firm, expandable skin but with pockets of fat in certain areas.
• Are you physically healthy?
• Do you have realistic expectations in reference to plastic surgery?

If you:

• Have unrealistic expectations this may not be for you. You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon.
• Are not physically healthy, you would not be a good candidate for liposuction.
• There is higher risks for patients that have diabetes, heart or lung disease.
• If the patient is under 18 years old, you should consult with your plastic surgeon in reference to your specific case. Plastic surgeons will want to wait until the minor has completed his or her growth spurt.

Plastic surgeons use different approaches for facelift, depending on your bone structure and there technique. The location of the incision will also depend on your bone structure, but will be discussed with you during your consultation. Some plastic surgeons will complete one side of the face first, and then move on to the other side, and other plastic surgeons will move back in forth between the sides. This is dependent on the surgeon’s technique.

Your plastic surgeon will typically make incisions above your hairline near the temples, extend it to the front of the ear, and continue to the rear of the earlobe to the lower scalp. If your case requires work on the neck, the plastic surgeon may also make an incision below the chin. The plastic surgeon will then separate the skin from both the fat and the muscle. The plastic surgeon will then tighten, after removing the fat, will tighten the main muscle and membrane, pull the skin back and then remove the excess skin. Stitches then secure the layers of tissue, and the incisions are closed. Depending on your specific case, metal clips may be used on the scalp.

A temporary tube, very small, will usually be placed under the skin, in order to drain any blood that may build up. Typically, your head will be wrapped up in bandages in order to reduce bruising and minimize swelling.

Mastopexy is commonly performed in conjunction with breast augmentation (implants) to increase breast firmness and size. This may appeal to women who have lost breast volume after pregnancy. Pregnancy and nursing often result in stretched skin and therefore decreased volume. If you are planning a future pregnancy, it is advisable to postpone your breast lift as pregnancy will likely cause further stretching.

As with all plastic surgery, realistic expectations and emotional stability are important. Though breasts of any size can be lifted, women with smaller breasts enjoy longer lasting results.
