Radiesse®

RADIESSE® is a dermal filler used to smooth wrinkles and folds in the lower face, as well as to plump the backs of the hands. This injectable can also be utilized to restore lost facial volume for natural-looking facial contouring. The RADIESSE® solution is made of calcium microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel, allowing for virtually immediate volume correction. As the skin absorbs RADIESSE®, the filler also works to stimulate collagen production to keep your skin looking full and youthful. How Does RADIESSE® Work?

RADIESSE® can volumize and plump your facial features through patented microsphere technology, which helps your skin absorb the filler over time while producing a noticeable difference almost immediately. Through a collagen-stimulating process called collagenesis, RADIESSE® can improve:

  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Marionette lines
  • Chin wrinkles
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Pre-jowl folds
  • Backs of the hands

RADIESSE® can provide subtle yet noticeable augmentation for 9 to 15 months, depending on where you received injections. Treatment typically takes 15 to 30 minutes and you should see results right away. Many patients complete injections during their lunch hour and simply return to work afterward. Since the effects of RADIESSE® usually last longer than other dermal fillers, there is often a reduced need for touch-up treatments.

Is RADIESSE® safe?

Yes, RADIESSE® has undergone years of extensive testing and is considered safe and effective for reducing wrinkles as well as plumping the face and hands. In addition to earning certification with a CE marking, RADIESSE® has received several FDA clearances and two FDA-approvals. Furthermore, RADIESSE<® is made from biocompatible substances and generally does not include a risk of allergic reactions. In clinical trials, there were also very few side effects after treatment besides mild swelling at the injection site.
